Oscar Schindler looks to have the Group One Prix RoyalOak (French St Leger) at his mercy at Longchamp tomorrow. The dual Irish St Leger winner has recovered well from a shaky start to the season and is clearly in tremendous heart at present. The Kevin Prendergast charge emerges with great credit from his fourth in the Arc de Triomphe earlier in the month, and he will relish this less taxing opposition.
A good performance here will surely seal Oscar Schindler's presence in either the Breeders' Cup Turf or the Japan Cup.
John Oxx's Irish Oaks winner, Ebadiyla, is held by Oscar Schindler on Arc de Triomphe (12th) running, but expect a much improved performance.
That race has reportedly had a galvanising effect on Ebadiyla, who may make the frame in a race which includes six challengers from Britain.
The sextet are Further Flight, Bahamian Knight, Double Eclipse, Grey Shot, Snow Princess and Camporese. The last named could well prove the most dangerous.
The three British raiders, Midnight Escape, Bishops Court and Hever Golf Rose, are unlikely to cope with Kistena in the Group Three Prix du Petit Couvert (5f).
Both Mick Channon's Poseidon and Lord Huntingdon's Mongol Warrior have Protektor to beat in the Group Three Preis der Spielbanken des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (12f) in Dusseldorf tomorrow. John Hills's Arriving and Huntingdon's Spartan Girl also taste German action in the Listed Nereide Rennen (10f) at Gelsenkirchen-Horst today.
