The Republic of Ireland senior women's team enjoyed a comfortable win over Greece in their World Cup Group Six qualifier on Saturday night at Dalymount Park.

The Irish took the lead in the 24th minute when Clare Scanlon volleyed home Ciara Grant's cross at the far post. They had to wait until eight minutes into the second half for their second, Olivia O'Toole tapping home from five yards. Caroline Thorpe secured victory when she made it 3-0 in 55th minute.

O'Toole grabbed her second of the game and her 24th international career goal in the 73rd minute to make it 4-0 and, with four minutes remaining , substitute Grainne Kierans completed the scoring.

The nearest the Greeks came to scoring was when Lazarou hit the bar in injury time.
