GOLF/Sunshine Tour: Justin Rose has set his sights on topping the South African Tour's order of merit after taking his second title inside a month yesterday in the Nashua Masters on the Wild Coast.
With just one counting tournament remaining - and the prize of a place in the American Express world championship in Mount Juliet later this year as an incentive - Rose has moved to second place in the moneylist, behind Tim Clark.
The English player showed signs of his growing maturity coming down the stretch yesterday. In shooting a final round 68 for a 15-under-par total of 265 - one shot clear of South African Titch Moore - Rose covered the final five holes with a series of pars to claim his second title, having won the Dunhill Championship (co-sanctioned by the European Tour) two weeks ago.
Ireland's Ciaran McMonagle managed his third successive sub-par round. But the former Irish amateur champion from Dunfanaghy slipped down to a share of 32nd place after bogeying the final two holes on his way to a 69 for three-under-par 277.
