The World Boxing Council is to honour Ghanaian boxing legend Azumah Nelson as the greatest professional boxer Africa has ever produced. Nelson, a former holder of the WBC's featherweight and super-featherweight titles, is set to receive the honour from WBC president Jose Sulaiman at the organisation's annual convention next month.
Nelson won the featherweight title from Wilfredo Gomez in 1983 and after several successful defences, took the super-feather crown from Mario Martinez in 1988.
