WALES will seek a physical confrontation with world champions, South Africa, at the weekend, led into battle by Dale "The Chief" McIntosh.

Rugged New Zealander Mclntosh immediately declared war on the Springboks after being called up alongside fellow uncapped Pontypridd forward Mark Rowley for Sunday's Cardiff Test.

"Teams don't come any more physical than South Africa, so we've got to match them in that area," said the uncompromising Kiwi, selected within a week of completing his three year residential qualification.

And 6ft 7in Rowley, five years older at 32, added: "I am going to be a right nuisance, on the floor and in the middle of rucks. It's time we started spoiling sides and not let them just walk all over us."

Such fighting talk will delight, Wales coach, Kevin Bowring, following the powder puff pack performance against Australia.
