Lawrie still has lead in his sights

Golf:Nicolas Colsaerts fired a 66 to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Volvo China Open in Chengdu. The Belgian, still without a win on the European Tour, birdied the final hole to inch ahead of local hope Chang-won Han, who had posted the clubhouse lead of 17-under-par with a round of 65.

Han is a stroke ahead of Ireland's Peter Lawrie and Frenchman Gregory Havret, who both shot 68, while halfway leader Jamie Donaldson is on 15-under after a round of 70. The Welshman was level par through 14 holes but remained in contention with back-to-back birdies at 15 and 16.

Gareth Maybin was unable to make progress when signing for a 72 and remains on 12 under, while Shane Lowry and Michael Hoey both went backwards when carding a 74 and 76 respectively, to drop back to three and two under.

But it is Colsaerts who is in charge following a round that started brightly with an eagle at the opening hole.

His long hitting has served him well this week - he is 11-under for the four par-fives - and he registered a further five birdies with just a solitary dropped shot at the fifth, only his second of the week.

Han made his move by reaching the turn in 31 after picking up five birdies in the first seven holes. He cooled off on the back nine, picking up two more shots at the 10th and 16th, but it was enough to set the early mark.
