MICHAEL KINANE, busy at Epsom for the next few days with big race mounts on Identify in today's Oaks, Storm Trooper in tomorrow's Derby and Singspiel in the Coronation Cup, was in good form at Tipperary last evening with a 54 to 1 double. He took the Tullamaine Castle Stud Handicap on Nameloc and the Tipperary Handicap on Sweet Ciseaux.

Although without a race since Listowel in September 1994 Nameloc belied his 12 years when bouncing back to win the Tullamaine Castle Stud Handicap. With a better gallop he might well have won more easily.

Successful in the 1989 Galway Amateur Handicap, and third in the same event the following year when he won four flat races, Nameloc has been kept on the easy list with leg trouble. I almost had him ready last year but I put him away to see what he'd be like this season," said his delighted trainer John Kiely. Apart from giving him a canter at Clonmel I have hardly done anything with him." he added.

The ground loving Nameloc, who got the upper hand a furlong down to beat his seven years junior Leggagh Lady by a length, will probably return to Galway though not for the Amateur Handicap.

The Dermot Weld trained Sweet Ciseaux could not have won his race with more aplomb, making all the running under bottom weight to win, eased down by three and a half lengths.

The once raced, Naas winner Theano went clear inside the distance to win the Ashtown Stud Race in the style of a very decent sort. Trained by Aidan 0'Brien this Thatching filly was ridden with considerable confidence by Christy Roche.

Henryk de Kwiatkowski's home bred Dayjur debutante Petite Princess quickened up nicely inside the distance to win the Templemore Maiden by a length and a half in the hands of Kevin Manning. "We will take it easy with her as she is rather temperamental" said trainer Jim Bolger.
