MUNSTER MFC SEMI-FINALS: Kerry kept one hand on their Munster minor football title with an emphatic, eight-point win over Tipperary in Limerick yesterday.
They will meet Cork in the final.
Top scorer Billy Dennehy and John Buckley fired Kerry into a 0-6 to 0-2 advantage after 17 minutes, and Tipperary looked out of their depth when the ball broke kindly to captain Shane Murphy who beat goalkeeper Martin McKeogh with a terrific shot.
But Tipperary were given a lifeline coming up to the break when Brian Mulvihill first found the net and then added a point to leave the score 1-8 to 1-4.
However, Tipperary fell back into their old habits, shooting a number of wides while managing to score just one point in the second half.
Kerry, playing within themselves tacked on five points from Dan Doyle, Dennehy (two) Paddy Curran and substitute Michael O'Donoghue.
