Paul Ince has declared that he is ready to return to Wolves as manager and lead a last-ditch attempt to avoid relegation.

Former Wanderers captain Ince said: “When I spoke to Jez [Moxey, Wolves chief executive] about the situation, he said the job was about experience, but a day later they appointed Terry [Connor]. With all due respect to TC, I’ve got more managerial experience than him. I’ve saved teams from relegation, I’ve got teams promoted and I’ve managed in the Premier League.

“If someone said: ‘Take it for the last seven games,’ I’d do it, because it’s Wolves and they’re my club and they’re only going one way at the moment.”
