Friendly rivals

The drinks are on Mark McCloskey at The Sandyford House. The St Margaret's member continued his memorable golfing summer with victory in the pub society's Captain's (John Mooney) Prize at Old Conna last Friday and he surely owes a few to his friend and rival John O'Gorman.

Earlier in the season, the pair met in the final of the prestigious McCrae Cup at Dun Laoghaire which McCloskey won by four and three. Last Friday, O'Gorman thought it was his turn for glory when he walked off the final green with 42 stableford points to his name - only to be pipped by McCloskey after he returned 43.
