Federation CUP player Lesley O'Halloran was the first seeded casualty in the East of Ireland senior open championships at Londonbridge Road last evening when she hobbled out of her quarter-final tie with international colleague Yvonne Flynn of Cork.
O'Halloran, seeded three, was playing well enough to be ahead 54 in the first set but she aggravated an old leg injury and could not continue. Top seed Karen Nugent continued to show that she has recovered well from illness as she gained a 6-2 6-2 win over Katherine Leonard.
