The annual Isle of Man TT Festival starts tomorrow with the first practice session for the world famous motorcycle races on the 37.73 mile Mountain Circuit.
With a record total of 23 TT wins, Irishman Joey Dunlop heads back to the Isle of Man to ride in six races; Formula One, lightweight 250cc, 125cc, Junior, Production and Senior. As always, Joey will ride Honda machinery.
His best chance of adding another win to his record tally would appear to be in the 125 and 250 races, however, he will face stiff competition in both from Welshman Ian Lougher and Englishman John McGuinness - who respectively won these classes last year.
In the big capacity classes (F1, Junior, Production and Senior) the battle will be between the very rapid V and M Yamahas of last year's triple winner David Jefferies and Michael Rutter, and the Honda Britain trio of Jim Moodie, Iain Duffus and Joey Dunlop.
Apart from Joey Dunlop, other Irish riders who should be to the fore include Adrian Archibald, Richard Britton, Gary Dynes, Denis McCullogh and Darren Lindsay. The only Southern competitor in this year's TT is Andy Kinsella from Rathcoole, Co Dublin, who competes in both sidecar races.
