LEAGUE OF IRELAND:DUNDALK YESTERDAY denied reports their players refused to train on two days earlier this week ahead of the home meeting with Derry City at Oriel Park tonight.
In a statement yesterday the club said “misunderstandings” over some players’ contracts were resolved to the satisfaction of all involved, although agreement remains to be finalised with one player who was unavailable to attend a meeting on Wednesday.
Manager Sean Connor is without the suspended Shaun Kelly and Paul McAreavey tonight, while Kevin McKinlay and Michael Collins are injured.
Derry have winger Liam Kearney suspended, while defender Steven Gray and striker Mark Farren are out injured.
Bohemians will receive the championship trophy after tonight’s final game at relegated Bray Wanderers. Pat Fenlon’s champions-elect lie three points ahead of Shamrock Rovers, but have a goal difference better by 16.
Bray defender Derek Foran (groin) misses the final game.
Cork City have captain Dan Murray back from suspension, but are without banned fellow defender Danny Murphy, as they may need a point when they travel to Galway United to take third place and a Europa League spot.
Galway, needing to win to be sure of avoiding the relegation play-offs, are without their suspended central defenders Shane Guthrie and Gary Breen.
St Patrick’s Athletic, currently in a play-off place third from bottom, are without Gary Dempsey (ankle), while Declan O’Brien (flu), Dave Partridge (hip), Bobby Ryan (knee) and Mark Quigley (shin splints) are doubtful starters as they host Rovers at Richmond Park.
