LEAGUE OF IRELAND:DUNDALK YESTERDAY denied reports their players refused to train on two days earlier this week ahead of the home meeting with Derry City at Oriel Park tonight.

In a statement yesterday the club said “misunderstandings” over some players’ contracts were resolved to the satisfaction of all involved, although agreement remains to be finalised with one player who was unavailable to attend a meeting on Wednesday.

Manager Sean Connor is without the suspended Shaun Kelly and Paul McAreavey tonight, while Kevin McKinlay and Michael Collins are injured.

Derry have winger Liam Kearney suspended, while defender Steven Gray and striker Mark Farren are out injured.

St Patrick’s Athletic, currently in a play-off place third from bottom, are without Gary Dempsey (ankle), while Declan O’Brien (flu), Dave Partridge (hip), Bobby Ryan (knee) and Mark Quigley (shin splints) are doubtful starters as they host Rovers at Richmond Park.
