The purple patch enjoyed by Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning continued with yet another two winners at Gowran yesterday, a good ending to the day for Manning who had picked up a £300 Turf Club fine in the morning.

The Appeals and Referrals Committee had inquired into an incident at Tralee on August 28th when it was alleged Manning struck fellow rider Paul Scallan. Manning, Scallan and another jockey Pat Shanahan gave evidence yesterday along with two stipendary stewards.

The Committee decided Manning was in breach of Rule 273(xii). The rule states no person shall alone or jointly be guilty of any violent or improper conduct on any racecourse.

The question of costs was referred to the stewards of the governing bodies and Manning later declined to comment to the media.

He later did his talking on the track when guiding Dolydille to her third success in seven days in the nine-furlong handicap. The filly had no problem defying another 5lb penalty to put four lengths between herself and Molly-O and give Bolger his second double in five racing days.

Dolydille could come out again at Navan next week and the two-year-old Creidim could also appear again this term after getting home by a neck from Summer Break in the Nursery.

Equalise and The Dell supplied Frances Crowley with her own training double but the most exciting performance of the day came from Senanjar who could not have won the maiden hurdle any easier.
