Goals at the start and finish of the opening half-propelled Cork to their first league points against a spirited, but well-beaten Leitrim at Pairc Ui Rinn yesterday.

Leitrim goalkeeper Gareth Phelan was left exposed for the opener after just 45 seconds when Alan O'Regan made no mistake

Phelan had to pick the bail from his net again 40 seconds into injury time . Cork punished a mistake and Padraig O'Mahony brilliantly found Brendan O'Sullivan and he crashed home cork's second goal for a 2-5 to 0-4 interval lead.
