Goals at the start and finish of the opening half-propelled Cork to their first league points against a spirited, but well-beaten Leitrim at Pairc Ui Rinn yesterday.

Phelan had to pick the bail from his net again 40 seconds into injury time . Cork punished a mistake and Padraig O'Mahony brilliantly found Brendan O'Sullivan and he crashed home cork's second goal for a 2-5 to 0-4 interval lead.
