Callaghan denies Sligo

Kildare kept Sligo in the game with a gift of an eighth-minute goal for Stephen Coen and then spurning a host of scoring chances.Three points from Fionn Dowling, and good scores by Johnny Doyle, Ronan Sweeney and Hugh Lynch gave them a five-point lead but Sligo started to win possession around the middle third as Daryl Flynn tired and kicked five consecutive points to restore parity.

Eamonn O’Hara produced the leveller in the 66th minute but he got under his shot too much. Pádraig O’Neill and Gary White fired over two eye-catching points for Kildare but David Maye’s two points brought the teams level again before Callaghan struck.
