Republic of Ireland midfielders Robbie Brady and David Meyler signed for Hull City from Manchester United and Sunderland respectively yesterday.

The duo have impressed while on loan at the Championship side over recent months and helped push the club into contention for automatic promotion to the Premier League over Christmas.

Hull are second after five wins in an eight-match unbeaten run. Meyler, who has scored three in 10 appearances since November, and Brady have signed three-and-a-half year deals for undisclosed fees, according to Hull.

Meyler confirmed the deal on Twitter last night saying: “I’m delighted to announce I’ve signed for Hull City on a three and a half year deal. Looking forward to pushing for promotion starting Saturday!”

He added: “I’d like to thank everyone at SAFC for everything, also the amazing fans for there (sic) support over the past 4 years. Special club.”

Brady has scored once in 12 games from left-wing back on his third loan spell at the club this season.
