BENNY THE DIP'S next race will be confirmed over the weekend, with trainer John Gosden admitting the colt's owner is favouring a crack at the Coral Eclipse Stakes.

Discussions between the Derby winner's trainer and American Landon Knight about whether to tackle the Budwieser Irish Derby have been going on since his Epsom triumph.

But Gosden conceded yesterday that the Ohio based owner breeder is leaning towards a Sandown clash with Bosra Sham rather than a Curragh rematch with Silver Patriarch.

"I'll be talking to the owner tonight and again at the weekend when a final decision will be made over where he runs," said Gosden.

"It doesn't effect his training programme. He breezed nicely on his own yesterday and will do a bit of work in company at the weekend.

"Next week we will have to get a bit more serious and we need to know where we are going.

"The Eclipse is very much an option or the Irish Derby, those are the two options, there are no others.
