OLYMPIC 100 metres champion Donovan Bailey trailed in second to Nigeria's Davidson Ezinwa at an IAAF Grand Prix meeting in Moscow yesterday, which was all but washed away by monsoon-type rains.
The Canadian sprint star, making his first appearance since beating US 200 metres champion Michael Johnson in their 150-metre showdown in Toronto on June 1st, clocked 10.28 seconds, eight hundredths behind the Nigerian.
Ireland's Susan Smith finished fifth in the women's 400 metres hurdles. Smith's time of 55.96 seconds was exactly one second behind the winner, Tatyana Kereshchuk of Ukraine.
Britain's former Olympic champion Sally Gunnell, back in action after her injury at the Atlanta Games, clocked 55.30 to finish second.
