All Star Limerick footballer Gary Kirby will take a back seat on Sunday as his wife, Carmel, tries to emulate him on playing fields.

Kinsale-born Carmel will operate at top of the left for the Limerick junior footballers, who take on Waterford in the Munster final.

Carmel is leading scorer with the Shannonsiders this season.
