Benfica sports director Luis Filipe Vieira truly cemented the bonds between the Portuguese club and Barcelona last week when he agreed to allow the Spaniards have first option (for a small fee) to buy Angolan international Pedro Mantorras in two years' time. Barcelona, by all accounts, were chuffed with the coup, their elation dampened only ever so slightly when they heard Benfica's asking price - £53 million. Well, at least they have two years to save up.
