Whose border is it anyway?

Sir, – Ray Leonard (Letters, March 28th) writes that to be a British border it “must relate to the island, culture, or people of Britain”.

I would argue that the British empire was of both the culture and people of Britain and that partition of countries as they left, India and Pakistan, Israel and Palestine, Iran, Iraq and Kuwait, and of course Ireland, is definitely part of the British culture. Brexit is another example of an attempt to divide and rule, making this a very British border. – Yours, etc,
