Using Irish and accessing services

A chara, – I agree generally with Liam Mac Cóil (Opinion, March 17th), and believe that we should be allowed to use Irish when dealing with a government department.

This does not mean that all the many official forms and documents must be available in Irish. Civil Servants can discuss matters with the public as necessary. Why make difficulties ?
