A chara, - There is no doubt last Sunday was one of the great days in the game of hurling. Here we had a great Kilkenny side with Henry Shefflin and D.J. Carey in irresistible form displaying their sublime skills with a near faultless performance in a magnificent stadium worthy of their talents and of the occasion.

Followers of Irish rugby have the same reverence for Lansdowne Road and its historic traditions as do followers of Gaelic football and hurling for Croke Park. It is surely time for the IRFU to match the example of the GAA by redeveloping Lansdowne Road in a manner worthy of our future Willie John McBrides and Mick Galweys. - Is mise,
