A chara, - Dr Valerie Bresnihan is incorrect when she states (September 12th) that "the last annual report on prisons, published in December 2000, covered the years 1995-1998." Prison reports are far more up to date than Dr Bresnihan realises.
For the record, we published our Prison Report for the years 1999-2000 in July this year. A copy is available on our website at www.irishprisons.ie. Furthermore work on the 2001 report is at an advanced stage and it will be published before the end of the year. - Is mise,
