PAC and the presidency

A chara, – While it is appropriate that the public funds spent by the Office of the President should be accounted for and overseen by the Public Accounts Committee, the timing of the examination is highly questionable. There is no reason why this could not have been done some years into the term of the presidency rather than now during a presidential election campaign. – Is mise,

JOHN KELLY,

A chara, – I sincerely hope that after the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee examines the costs of the Office of the President that it forensically examines the costs, and specifically the expenses, of the Houses of the Oireachtas, namely Dáil Éireann, Seanad Éireann and each and every TD and Senator within them. – Is mise,

JASON POWER,

Dartry,
