A chara, - The chairman of the GP committee of the Irish Medical Organisation, Dr James Reilly, defending the decision by some doctors to set time-based fees for consultations, says that "time is money and everything has to be paid for". I have rarely, if ever, been seen at my appointed time by any GP I have ever made an appointment with, even though I am always punctual.

Now that time is money and everything has to be paid for, surely I will be entitled to counter-charge my GP if he fails to see me at my appointed time! - Yours, etc.,
