Madam, – As someone who works in the public service, I have an idea for saving some money. Every two weeks we receive our payslips, perfectly yet pointlessy perforated and ready to tear, having used at least four different printer colours. In a digital age this is lunacy. Everyone has an e-mail address now, could the payslips not be done away with and the details sent via the internet?
Surely it would save a considerable sum of money as well as saving paper, and hence the environment. But I am neither a corrupt politician or conniving banker, nor do I wish the see the country plunged into further chaos, so why would anyone listen to me? – Yours, etc,
