Not listening to consumer complaints

Time for a rethink

Sir, – So once again Eir tops the list of complaints from consumers for another year to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) (“Eir, Ryanair and Sky most likely to be referenced by callers as consumer complaints rise 18%”, News, August 14th). Joe Duffy on his RTÉ radio programme spent almost a week of his shows recently talking to Eir customers listing their complaints in dealing with the company. How many such reports or radio programmes will it take for someone in Government to think in might be appropriate to have relevant consumer legislation implemented that helps and supports citizens rather than having to put up with this constant and never-ending shoddy service from large corporate companies like Eir that show disregard and little respect for its customers? – Yours, etc,

DAVID GORDON,
