A man who set the “wrong” neighbour’s house on fire with a petrol bomb while young children were sleeping inside has been given a three-year suspended sentence. James Dorrington (21), Liscarne Gardens, Clondalkin, Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to causing criminal damage to a roof and having a firearm.

Garda Rachel Caprani said a feud existed between the family of the accused and a family who lived beside the house which was attacked.
