Swedish police have questioned two 13-year-old boys who are suspected of killing a 65-year-old man.
Police spokesman Tommy Nyman says the two boys were arrested late on Tuesday after the man had been found dead earlier in the day on a farm near Varberg, south of Sweden’s second largest city of Gothenburg.
Mr Nyman said that “witness accounts and objects linking the boys to the scene” led police to detain the pair, who had left a nearby foster home on Monday.
The children have not been identified.
‘Pretty unusual’
Mr Nyman said it was "pretty unusual" for young people in Sweden to be suspected of a serious crime like murder.
In Sweden, children under the age of 15 cannot be prosecuted.
The boys have been turned over to social welfare authorities.
