A woman in her forties has died in St James's Hospital today following a fire at her home in Ballyfermot, west Dublin.
Two units of the Dublin Fire Brigade put out the fire at the house at Rossmore Drive, which was reported at around 3.00 a.m.
The woman was found in an upstairs bedroom.
There were no other occupants of the house at the time of the fire.
The scene of the fire has now been preserved for technical examimation.
Gardaí at Ballyfermot are investigating the incident.
