A woman driver accused of attempting to murder another woman by driving  over her was released on bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.

Ms Anne Jelley (30), from Bloomfield Road, Belfast, had been refused bail last  week after Mr Justice Girvan said he would need a psychiatric report before he  could be satisfied it was safe to allow her out into the public.

A psychiatric report was handed to Lord Justice Campbell today and he  said there was nothing in it to suggest any particular risk of Ms Jelley  committing offences because of any addiction to alcohol.

He said that despite the gravity of the offence, he was granting bail but  banned Ms Jelley from driving pending her trial.

He also told her to stay away from the Odyssey Centre where Ms Victoria McBride (23), was run over and seriously  injured.
