A 91-year-old Tyrone woman who was the victim of a sexual assault in her isolated home last month has died in hospital. Ms Mary Ann McLaughlin never fully recovered from the ordeal at her house outside Castlederg.
She woke early on January 15th to find a man had clambered into her bed. After sexually assaulting her, he left Ms McLaughlin in a distressed state. She was found hours later by her home help cowering in the corner of her bedroom.
No one has been arrested in connection with the assault.
