Former England star Paul Gascoigne is training with Premiership strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 36-year-old midfielder has asked if he can join the Wolves squad at Compton in order to get fit.

Wolves boss Daves Jones told the club's website www.wolves.co.uk: "Paul approached us and asked if he could come along to training. He wants to get himself fit and find a club. We said we were happy to help him out so he will be joining in with us this morning."

Recently Gascoigne has been playing for Chinese League B team Gansu Tianma and was expected to sign for a team in the Middle East.

However, it is understood that the former Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton star wants to find a club in Britain.
