People wanting to extend messages of sympathy to the families of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman can do so via the Internet.
As the hunt goes on for the killer of the 10-year-old best friends, a special website-based book of condolence has been set up for those who cannot travel to Soham or sign other books being opened in churches and cathedrals around the UK.
The site has been created by Cambridgeshire Police and Cambridgeshire County Council and will allow for messages to be sent from around the world as well as Britain.
Once completed, the book will be sent to the county council to be transcribed into a permanent memorial of the two youngsters to sit alongside the book of condolence in Soham.
The site, called Soham Tragedy, reads: "The authorities of Cambridgeshire, England, have been both touched and overwhelmed with messages of support from all over the world sent to the community of Soham in Cambridgeshire following the disappearance of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman on Sunday 4th August 2002."
It can be accessed via a link on the Cambridgeshire Police website at www.cambs.police.uk
A more direct address at www.sohamtragedy.org.uk is expected to be available in a few days, a police spokesman said. - (PA)
