NEW YORK The UN "is on the brink of financial disaster" and the US must pay $1.5 billion it owes the world body, the Secretary General, Dr Boutros Boutros Ghali in an opinion piece published yesterday.
"Americans need to what's going on, because their country took the lead in creating the organisation, and its delinquency in paying arrears is threatening it" Dr Boutros Ghali wrote in the New York Times.
