BLACKBURN Former Beirut hostages Mr Terry Waite and Mr John McCarthy made a plea for information about the fate of four men held captive for nearly 18 months by guerrillas in Kashmir.

They shared a pulpit yesterday at a special service in Immanuel Church at Feniscowles, near Blackburn, Lancashire, the parish church of one of the captives, student Mr Paul Wells (24), during an all-day prayer vigil.
