The Government should put the voluntary sector on an equal footing with other social partners, according to the chief executive of the Disability Federation of Ireland. Speaking at the annual conference of the Irish Council for Social Housing in Galway, Mr Roger Acton said voluntary organisations now employed more than 60,000 people, with another 40,000 employed on community employment schemes.
