Vogts gets vote of confidence from SFA

Scottish Football Association (SFA) chief executive David Taylor has given under-fire coach Berti Vogts a vote of confidence.

Scottish Football Association (SFA) chief executive David Taylor has given under-fire coach Berti Vogts a vote of confidence.

The German coach is under pressure following yesterday's humiliating 2-2 draw against the Faroes Islands.

SFC officials appear to be behind their manager despite concerns aired by some players.

Taylor said: "It's not Berti's style to walk away, just the reverse in fact.

"There's definitely a bit of the Scottish character in him. When things go wrong he doubles his efforts. He's determined to do well.

"Berti is definitely the right appointment along with Rainer Bonhof to reshape Scottish football.

"He is here for the long term, Berti is also here to improve our whole system."
