The United States will reopen its diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia tomorrow, six days after at least 18 people were killed in a Riyadh suicide bombing, diplomats said this evening.

The US embassy in the capital Riyadh and two US consulates were closed on the eve of the bombing at a residential compound following warnings of an imminent attack.

"The embassy wishes to advise the American community that it and the consulates in Jeddah and Dhahran will reopen on Saturday November 15th, 2003 for normal operations including consular services to the public," an embassy statement said.

"Given the uncertainty of the current security environment, the US mission continues to urge American citizens to remain vigilant, maintain a low profile and follow prudent security practices," it said.
