A US F-16 fighter jet has crashed at a bombing range in New Jersey.

Its pilot ejected and was not injured, a Pentagon spokesman said.

"At approximately 10.30 a.m. (3.30 Irish time) an F-16 from the 177th Fighter Wing, Air National Guard at Atlantic City, New Jersey crashed at Warren Grove bombing range," said Army Major Dan Stoneking. "The pilot has ejected safely."
