The Irish Independent Chapel of the National Union of Journalists has called on colleagues in the media to observe a minutes silence on Monday at 1 p.m. as a mark of respect to murdered journalist, Veronica Guerin.
The journalists at Independent House are asking employees in all media outlets, including television, radio, national and local newspapers, PR and other agencies to observe the minute of silence.
"We believe that this is the most dignified way of remembering Veronica and what she died for," the Father of the Chapel, Mr Kevin Moore, told a special meeting of the union yesterday afternoon.
