United Nations - The General Assembly admitted Yugoslavia by acclamation yesterday as a new UN member. The old Yugoslavia was a founder member of the UN in 1945. But Belgrade has been in limbo since 1992, after Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia seceded, leaving the new Federal Republic of Yugoslavia under the former president Slobodan Milosevic comprising only Serbia and Montenegro.
