A four-year-old boy from Co Tyrone has been killed when the car he was travelling in collided with a motorbike in Scotland yesterday.

The motorcyclist was also killed in the crash in Ayrshire yesterday afternoon.

The boy has been named as James Michael Hayes, from Omagh.

Police said a Peugeot 106 car and a Yamaha motorcycle crashed into each on the road between Maybole and Kirkoswald.

Three other men and another three-year-old boy, all from Northern Ireland, were also injured and are being treated in hospital. It is understood they were visiting relatives in Scotland.
