Two people have been killed in separate road crashes in Co Galway and Co Westmeath today.
A man in his seventies was killed when two cars and a van collided on the N18 Gort to Ennis road at 3pm. A female passenger in the same car, also believed to be in her seventies, was taken to University College Hospital Galway.
Earlier today a man in his twenties died in a single vehicle crash at Ballina, Co Westmeath. His car hit a ditch before ending up in a field at 8.40am.
