Two men were arrested in Cobh in County Cork overnight following an assault in which a Garda was struck with a bottle.
The two men in their late twenties were involved in a row in Pearse Square in Cobh shortly after 11 p.m. last night.
When a garda intervened, he was struck in the face with a bottle. He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he received stitches.
The two men are expected to appear at a sitting of Cobh District Court later today.
