Two men have appeared before a special District Court sitting in Limerick this afternoon charged in connection with a weekend shooting in the city.

John O'Callaghan aged 23, Pineview Gardens Moyross and Stephen Casey aged 18, Boskil, Caherconlish, Co Limerick are both charged with possession of a single barrel sawn off shot gun in Cliodhna Park Moyross, on May 3rd last.

Det Garda Jim Carmody and Det Gda Daragh McGuire gave evidence of arresting both men and charging them at Mayorstone Garda Station yesterday.

Judge Tom O'Donnell remanded both men in custody with consent to bail on their own bond of €90 and an independent surety of €1500.

Both men are due back before the Court on Thursday.
