A 19-year-old man is recovering in hospital this morning after being shot in the right leg in a paramilitary-style shooting in Co Antrim yesterday.

The victim was attacked in a subway near a school in the New Mossley estate, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, at 6.30 p.m.

Another man was also hospitalised last night after being shot in both legs in a paramilitary-style attack in Donaghadee, Co Down.

He was shot in wasteground near flats at Cannyreagh Road at around 8pm.

Meanwhile, the RUC in Derry arrested a person for Grevious Bodily Harm with intent, after an incident in Great James Street.

An RUC spokeman said officers were attacked with stones as they attended the scene. Two people were taken to hospital shortly after 2.30 a.m.
