Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Latvian man have arrested two people.

The pair, a man and a woman in their 30s, are being questioned about Juris Buls, who went missing in Co Galway earlier this month.

They were arrested in Glenamaddy, Co Galway, and are being held at Tuam Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Mr Buls (30) was last seen at his home in Glenamaddy. He failed to turn up for work at Titan Plastics in the town on the night of Thursday, July 7th.

He is described being as 5ft 7in, with short blond hair and blue eyes, and of light build.

Gardaí said he may have been wearing a blue heavy-lined work jacket, with Titan written in white lettering on the front left lapel and the word Kingspan on the back.
